Although Race City itself will only be running the Secret Street program (every Friday night except June 26), there are several top level events being hosted at Race City Motorsport Park during the month off June. Saturday June 13 the Big Rigs are running on the oval. Their gates open at 5pm and the heat races start at 7. Tickets are $20 for adults. Youths and seniors are $18 and kids under 8 are free.
Saturday June 20, gates open at 5pm, and Sunday June 21, gates open at 10am, the CDRA is running the Father's Day Classic drag races. They expect to have Funny Cars and Jet Cars at the event. Admission is $10 and children 8 and under are free. Friday June 26, Saturday June 27 and Sunday June 28 the Parts Canada Superbike Nationals are running on the roadcourse. Gates open at 10am each day. Three day and single day tickets are available.
You can access the event websites by clicking on the logos on the right side of the main page. We hope to have a clickable calendar on the front page soon to get information about public accessible events happening at Race City. |

Friday May 15 is the new start date for Secret Street events. Heavy rain on Thursday at the track left the pit area very wet and with a cool and wet forecast for today won't let us run the event without tracking mud and dirt on to the track. This is particularly the case today as construction is ongoing on 68 St at the entrance to Race City and fresh wet gravel will be just outside our gate. The events will happen every Friday night until Thanksgiving, weather permitting. There will be no Secret Street event on June 26. Gates open at 6:00 pm and Tech is open until about 9:30. Our apologies for not getting started as eary as we had hoped but, it's definitely time to get the ride ready! |

The motion put forth at City Council at the begining of November last year was defeated in a tie vote (7-7) at the City council meeting this past Monday. What this means is that Race City does not have the easy political fix to our issues with the City's interpretation of the lease. Race City will continue to try to resolve our isssues in an effort to provide the thousands of people and many businesses and clubs that use this facility with a place to pursue their passions. As we do this the 2009 season will unfold in good order. There are many race and performance driving schools being held on site this season and we have dates booked for all types of racing as well as the Secret Street program to start in the Spring. Contact any of the organizations listed in the LINKS tab to get more information on each of the programs. |
